As Uber Eats expanded its platform to include liquor deliveries, compliance with the ID25 practice, verifying identification for customers under 25, became critical. The brand needed a national mystery shopping program to test performance, identify training needs and maintain trust with regulators and retail partners.
We mapped every liquor retail partner, including logistics, delivery rosters and driver coverage zones. Our team built a custom geo-aware app, ShopperNOW, to assign mystery shopping jobs in real time within a 3km radius of delivery partners. Over 1,000 mystery shoppers aged 18–21 were recruited to test and validate compliance across the Uber Eats network.
